East 17 reunion date confirmed

East 17 are reforming for a one-off show in London.

The group follow in the footsteps of fellow '90s pop stars Take That by getting back together, and have confirmed a date at the London Shepherds Bush Empire (May 30).

The show, which features the line up of Tony Mortimer, Brian Harvey, John Hendy and Terry Coldwell, will be together for the first time in almost ten years. The last time they all performed live together was in 1996.

Tony Mortimer said: "It has been a long time for me but I am sure it will all come flooding back. I have already started playing the songs to get the rust and cobwebs out in time for the gig. It's going to be a great show. A 'one-off' that I hope people will remember."

Tickets go on sale Friday 31 March. NME.COM understands more gigs are in the pipeline, with the possibility of a full tour to follow.

The pop group had twelve Top Ten hits between 1992 and 1998 in the UK plus Number Ones in other countries throughout the world.

After the band's split mainman Brian Harvey suffered from a turbulent personal life, which last year culminated in a bizarre car accident leaving him seriously ill and hospitalised.
